Ɗegel is a peer-reviewed journal published jointly by the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. The journal derives its name from Ɗegel, a historic town located a few kilometers from Sokoto city. Ɗegel holds significant historical importance as the first center of intellectual activity from which Shehu Usmanu Danfodiyo launched his reformist jihad across Hausaland and beyond.
The Editorial Board invites the submission of unpublished, original, and scholarly articles, as well as well-articulated book reviews, from academics, researchers, and professionals within and beyond the academic community. Submissions are welcome in the fields of History, Religion, Language, Culture, and other related areas deemed acceptable by the Editorial Board.
